Textiles
2020 - ongoing

This is a selection of textile pieces, some of which have been exhibited or part of installations. Others have been personal commissions or just developed in the studios. Over the years I’ve used different techniques - mainly applique and hand-loom weaving. Sometimes I went a bit random and tried using different materials, but mostly I like cotton, leather and wool. With applique I like re-using old clothes or forgotten scraps.
I’ve been looking at different themes with this work, but some of the main ones are anatomy and body systems.
Alongside this I’ve run weaving and textiles workshops for community groups which has been really enjoyable. It’s fun adapting techniques and approaches, working with people who bring fresh ways of doing things.
